Épée d'Académicienne

An épée d'académicienne for the philosopher Barbara Cassin, elected to the Académie Française. The scabbard carries an embedded LED strip that scrolls her motto — “Plus d'une langue” (more than one language) — along its length. A one-off connected object marrying the centuries-old tradition of the “immortels” sword with live, animated text, presented at the Institut de France in 2019.
